Mary (aka Neta) is a dancer, fitness instructor and trainer. She has been studying the art of American Tribal Style/Improvisational Tribal Style and Tribal Fusion belly dance since 2002 and Tomiki Aikido since 1995. She holds both Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer certifications from ACE (American Council on Exercise).
While countless studies prove which exercises are more effective for various goals, she believes that Covert Bailey was right when he claimed: The best exercise is “the one that you will do”. With that philosophy in mind, she strives to provide safe and effective instruction while having fun. Her programs are structured for providing balance between Strength, Cardiovascular Fitness and Flexibility as well as connecting Mind, Body and Spirit.
When she isn't dancing or teaching, she works as an Engineering/Technical Project Leader in downtown Chicago. She has her B.S. in Engineering Science and her M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She frequently exposes her geeky side during classes as well, when she talks about the physics of a spin or leverage on a lift as well as the occasional comparison of hip movement to that of pistons in an engine.
