Virginia

Virginia was first introduced to yoga as a teenager.  Her interest and love for yoga evolved into the teacher she is today.  Now as a 200 registered yoga teacher with yoga alliance, she wants to share her love and compassion for yoga with others.  She graduated from the Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Center providing her with a thorough understanding in breath awareness, meditation and Hatha Yoga.  She remains active as a member in a continuing education program.  Self service is part of the yoga philosophy and Virginia has earned her wings in this category by volunteering to teach yoga to cancer patients.  Her goal is to make yoga part of your everyday life developing skills in breathing awareness, stretching, relaxing and meditation.

  1. When you come to class here are some important things to remember:
  2. Wear loose fitting clothes
  3. Do not eat a large meal prior to practicing
  4. Empty bowels and bladder
  5. Drink plenty of water during the day
  6. Pilates Plus has all of the equipment, but if you plan on practicing regularly, you might want to purchase a mat
  7. Ensure to notify me of physical conditions that may limit your practice

Yoga should be practiced with patience; it should never be forced.  In the beginning your body may feel resistant to the changes, but remember your body is going through an aging process and will resist reversing it.  Hatha yoga helps:

  • Make the muscles more elastic and youthful
  • Keep the spine subtle and flexible
  • Increases circulation
  • Revitalizes cells with a fresh supply of oxygen
  • Massages internal organs
  • Purifies  the whole anatomical system
