Meet Catriona Bowman

Catriona Bowman began her Yoga practice with her father when she was 8 years old and started teaching Yoga and pilates with dance aerobics ten years ago. She teaches Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga and trains private clients on the Pilates reformer. Catriona is a 200-HR registered yoga teacher with Yoga-Alliance and is certified to teach Yoga through the Temple of Kriya Yoga, The Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore, India; Reformer and Mat Pilates with AAAI/ISMA and NETA and Fitness Arts. In her other life, Dr. Bowman is a college professor teaching Biology at the College of Dupage.

Aroma Yoga
Specialty class. Specific oils used in combination with yoga postures to balance, uplift ground and restore the body mind and spirit. First class is used as foundational yoga postures and breathing techniques.

Vinyasa Yoga
Yoga is the perfect class for those that want to fully connect mind, body, and spirit. In Vinyasa Yoga, the breathing is synchronized with graceful, flowing poses. Each pose flows one into the next at a relaxing, yet invigorating pace. This class is perfect for those looking for the meditative and stress relieving benefits of yoga and a cardiovascular, energizing workout. Students will enhance their concentration and focus while toning their bodies and increasing flexibility. Enhanced feelings of wellness and an improved appearance are also some of the incredible benefits of yoga! Hatha Yoga
Yoga is the perfect class for those that want to fully connect the mind, body, and spirit. Hatha Yoga, also known as "Power Yoga" combines posture with breath control to transform your mind and body. Hatha yoga is practiced to purify and strengthen the body while increasing tone and circulation. Often called "Sun/Moon Yoga" Hatha Yoga's goal is self realization through discipline and practice. This yoga seeks to balance the two sides of the personality--male/female. Hatha Yoga works well as an evening relaxation class. Enhanced feelings of wellness and an improved appearance are some of the incredible benefits of yoga! Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga is the antidote to stress. It is sometimes described as active relaxation. We support the body with blankets and blocks to stimulate and relax the body and to move it towards balance. All poses are beneficial to health and can reduce the effects of stress-related diseases.

Yoga Chikitsa
Chikitsa translates to "therapy" in Sanskrit. Yoga Chikitsa is a series of asanas (exercises) performed in a fixed order to gain the maximum therapeutic action for healing, cleansing and toning the mind and body.
